Can a Budgie Be Kept Alone?

Budgies are attractive, colorful, and social birds which are easy to look after and keep. Originally, they come from Australia and have a life span of around 15 years. Therefore, choosing one for a pet is a real commitment.

Keeping a Budgie Alone

Typically, this bird can be kept alone, but they like the company of their species. However, if you keep them by themselves, they will need regular exercise away from their cage to maintain their mental health. However, they are very social and energetic birds, so it is best for them to have companions. Without a friend to play, they might require something that will occupy their time. You should include shiny parts, bells, treats, or even puzzle toys in the cage.

Alternatively, if you do not have another bird, then you might need to bond with the bird to get rid of its loneliness. Consider having a single budgie in a room where you spend most of your time. If you are a busy person then purchase another budgie for company.
